FG Updates Terrorism Sponsors’ List

The Federal Government has released an updated list of 48 individuals and groups allegedly linked to terrorism financing and sponsorship across Nigeria.

The list was made public by the Nigeria Sanctions Committee on Saturday, April 11, 2026, via its official platform, as part of intensified efforts to clamp down on terrorism-related activities.

This development comes amid an ongoing mass trial of terrorism suspects at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where 227 suspects have been arraigned before 10 judges on charges related to aiding and abetting terrorism in the North-East.

Security remains tight around the trial, with heavy deployment of military personnel, police officers, and intelligence operatives.

The Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, said the large-scale prosecution reflects the government’s commitment to tackling terrorism and ensuring justice.

One of the key convictions so far is Babagana Habeeb, who was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for supplying petrol to Boko Haram insurgents. The judgment was delivered by Justice Peter Lifu.
