United States President Donald Trump has removed Attorney General Pam Bondi from her position, marking a major shake-up in his administration.

Trump announced the decision on his Truth Social platform, praising Bondi for her service while revealing that she would be “transitioning” into a private sector role to be announced later.

Bondi, a longtime ally and staunch defender of the president, is set to be replaced by her former deputy, Todd Blanche.

Her tenure as America’s top law enforcement officer was largely overshadowed by controversy surrounding the handling of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Her exit comes weeks after the removal of Kristi Noem as Homeland Security chief, making Bondi one of several high-profile departures in Trump’s current term.

Meanwhile, reactions have been mixed. Some Republican allies praised her leadership, while critics—including lawmakers from both parties—welcomed her departure, particularly over her handling of the Epstein investigation.
