The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, has secured the conviction of 25 traffic offenders during a mobile court session held at its RS2.2 Sector Command headquarters on Wednesday.
The offenders were prosecuted for various safety violations, including overloading, failure to use seatbelts, absence of speed limit devices, and irregularities involving driver’s licences, vehicle licences, and number plates.
The proceedings were presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo, who oversaw the enforcement exercise aimed at promoting road discipline and reducing accidents across key routes in the state.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Odunsi Afolabi, a total of 46 offences were recorded and penalised, with all offenders fined. No custodial sentences were issued.
Speaking on the exercise, the Ogun State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, described the mobile court as a critical tool in the agency’s ongoing enforcement efforts.
He noted that the operation reflects the Command’s “zero tolerance” stance on traffic violations, stressing that it serves as a warning to motorists to comply with road safety regulations.
Ogunjobi added that the initiative is part of broader measures to curb road traffic crashes and safeguard lives and property across the state.
