Reality TV star and media personality Adekunle Olopade has confirmed that the police officers who allegedly assaulted him during a recent encounter have been identified and disciplined by the authorities.

Naija News recalls that Adekunle had earlier claimed he was harassed and assaulted by police officers after taking a night drive in his mother’s car.

In an update shared via his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, the former Big Brother Naija housemate said the Lagos State Police Command’s Complaint Response Unit (CRU) acted swiftly after his initial report.

“In the last few days, the only news you’ve heard from me has been difficult, but I’d like to share some good news,” Adekunle wrote. “The Lagos State Police Command Complaint Response Unit swung into action the moment the news broke and followed up to ensure everything was okay.”

He revealed that he had been in contact with ACP Oluyemisi Ojo, the officer in charge of Area J Command, Elemoro, Ibeju-Lekki, who personally oversaw the investigation.

“I am happy to let you know that I just left the Elemoro Police Station, and thanks to the effort and investigation of ACP Oluyemisi Ojo, the police officers were found, and disciplinary action has been taken against them,” he said.

Adekunle expressed relief over the outcome, noting that the development had restored some of his faith in law enforcement.

“Justice has been served! A heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders. The fact that justice can be served at a time when public trust in the police is low is truly encouraging.”

The reality star urged Nigerians to report cases of police harassment or brutality, emphasizing that accountability mechanisms within the force can work when properly engaged.

“For everyone who has ever been treated badly by police officers, please report the case. Get as much evidence as you can and take the matter up. The Lagos State Complaint Response Unit works — their job is to ensure citizens’ safety while sanitizing the system of bad officers.”
