Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has urged residents of Zamfara State to consider joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as part of efforts to address the state’s rising security concerns and economic challenges.

El-Rufai made the appeal while speaking to ADC supporters in Gusau, outlining the party’s roadmap for strengthening security, stabilising the economy, and boosting food production across Zamfara. He encouraged party members to remain united and avoid actions that could undermine internal cohesion.

Highlighting the importance of grassroots engagement, the former governor stressed collaboration with youth and women’s groups to deepen awareness of ADC programmes and initiatives. He also called on residents to prepare their Permanent Voter’s Cards in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.

The ADC’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Atiku, described El-Rufai’s visit as a significant boost to the party’s efforts to strengthen internal cooperation and stability in the state.

Zamfara State ADC Chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Garba, reported that the event drew participation from youths and women across all 14 local government areas, as well as local politicians, Islamic scholars, and community stakeholders who reiterated their support for the party’s plans for security, economic revival, and inclusive governance.

El-Rufai’s intervention underscores ADC’s commitment to expanding its presence in the North-West and addressing key governance challenges through strategic engagement and grassroots mobilisation.
