Members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), comprising governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday night held a closed-door meeting at the Council Chamber of the Kebbi State Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

The meeting, chaired by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, focused on pressing national issues and internal matters affecting the ruling party.

According to Channels Television, the APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, was in Kebbi State at the time but did not participate in the forum’s deliberations.

In a statement issued earlier on Thursday, Yilwatda confirmed his presence in the state and announced his plans to attend the inauguration of the Tinubu Kauran Gwandu Movement for Continuity State Secretariat, in addition to other engagements.

“Over the next two days, APC governors will engage in closed-door sessions to deliberate on critical national and party matters. As a party, we remain committed to the unity, good governance, and the vision of Renewed Hope for all Nigerians,”
Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, APC National Chairman.

While details of the PGF meeting remain undisclosed, sources say discussions likely centred on strategies to strengthen internal cohesion within the APC, address economic and security challenges across states, and align governance priorities with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Progressive Governors Forum serves as a policy and advisory platform for APC governors, designed to promote collaboration and coordinate collective actions across the party’s state governments.
