"We won't be able to solve this problem until we sort out the supply challenges," Gillis-Harry explained. He mentioned that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) confirmed the main issue is logistics.
He further explained, "The problem is with ship-to-ship transfers. Until the ships deliver products to the depots, we can't get fuel to sell."
Despite the challenges, Gillis-Harry assured that oil marketers are in talks with NNPCL to address the supply issues. "We're working with NNPCL, encouraging them to do more. They're trying their best," he said.
The fuel scarcity, which started in Lagos in late July, has spread across many states in Nigeria. Some fuel stations are now selling petrol for as much as N1,050 per litre.
