The incident occurred at the Living Faith Church in the Daura Local Government Area, where the looters made off with valuable items, disrupting the scheduled service. Pastor David Sarki, who confirmed the incident, reported that the congregation had to worship at home cells instead.
Pastor Sarki described how the hoodlums, many arriving in tricycles, broke into the church around 10:00 am, stealing everything from digital clocks and musical instruments to a desktop computer and church documents.
Two other churches were targeted: Deeper Life Church, which was also invaded, and the Anglican Church, which remained secure due to strong gate protection. Pastor Sarki expressed surprise and condemnation of the attacks, urging the government to take action and the perpetrators to seek repentance.
In a related incident, Pastor Nelson Onyekachuku of Power of Resurrection Church reported vandalism at his church, where hoodlums broke windows but failed to gain entry due to iron gate protectors. Onyekachuku, also a former state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, denounced the attacks, emphasizing the additional pain inflicted on the church community.
Local authorities, including the police and army, have been notified, with some arrests already made in connection with the incidents.
