Nigeria’s headline inflation rate rose to 15.38 percent in March 2026, marking a slight increase from the 15.06 percent recorded in February, according to the latest figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The data indicates that on a month-on-month basis, headline inflation stood at 4.18 percent in March, reflecting continued pressure on consumer prices across the country.

Food inflation also recorded an uptick, rising to 14.31 percent in March from 12.12 percent in the previous month. On a month-on-month basis, food inflation was put at 4.17 percent.

The NBS noted that the increases highlight persistent price pressures, particularly in the food sector, which remains a key driver of overall inflation in the country.
