The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Adamu Oyanki, was on Monday involved in a motor accident along the Keffi-Akwanga highway.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 10 a.m., causing concern among political stakeholders and residents in the state.

Following the crash, the damaged vehicle of the deputy speaker was evacuated to the Assembly complex in Lafia for inspection.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, alongside other lawmakers, visited the complex to assess the extent of damage to the vehicle.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, Jatau expressed gratitude that no life was lost in the accident.

“We thank Almighty God for saving the life of the Deputy Speaker from the auto crash. We are grateful that he is alive and safe,” he said.

Reports indicate that Oyanki is currently in stable condition, with no fatalities recorded from the incident.
