Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, has claimed that he has personally conducted more than 70 mass burials for Christian victims of violent attacks in Plateau State.
The cleric made the remarks during an interview on the Piers Uncensored podcast with British broadcaster Piers Morgan on Tuesday, describing what he called ongoing targeted killings against Christian communities in Nigeria.
“I have performed several genocide burials, more than 70 times. Imagine some of the graves have five hundred and one people killed in just one night in Dogo Nahawa in a village called Gembruk,” Dachomo said.
Accusations Against Government
Rev. Dachomo accused the Federal Government of downplaying the scale of the killings, alleging that certain groups within the government are complicit in the attacks.
“The Nigerian government downplayed that one because the Islamic are controlling the government,” he said.
These claims come despite repeated government statements denying that any form of Christian genocide is taking place in the country.
Allegations About Boko Haram’s Origins
The cleric also alleged that Boko Haram was initially created by high-ranking officials as part of a political plot to remove former President Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian, from power.
“They caused riots in every village, and the people ran away; they were relocated. Their target was to kill the Christians because Goodluck is a Christian. That’s why Goodluck said ‘my blood is not worth it’,” Dachomo stated.
