African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and Ekiti State governorship aspirant, Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua, has vowed that no amount of attack or intimidation will stop the party from taking over power in the state and restoring it to the path of development.

David-Adesua stated this in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday while reacting to Tuesday’s attack on the ADC Secretariat in the state capital by suspected hoodlums.

The attackers reportedly burnt the party’s newly established secretariat, vandalised properties, and assaulted members during the inauguration of party executives at various levels.

Describing the incident as “a desperate act of political cowardice and intimidation,” the ADC aspirant said,

“This attack is not merely against a building but against the democratic will of Ekiti people who seek freedom from tyranny and misrule.
Let it be clear, no amount of destruction or deceit will break our resolve.
From these ashes, we shall rescue, rebuild, and rise stronger, bolder, and more united.”

He added that the incident would only strengthen the ADC’s determination to defend truth, uphold justice, and restore the dignity of the people.

“We will not be deterred by agents of oppression or internal saboteurs who hide behind chaos to cover their failures.
Our movement is people-driven, unstoppable, and divinely anchored.
Together, we will rebuild what has been destroyed, rekindle hope, and reclaim Ekiti’s destiny,” he said.

Aregbesola Condemns Attack

A former Minister of Interior and ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, who was in Ekiti for the inauguration ceremony, also condemned the attack, describing it as a shameful display of intolerance and a dangerous threat to democracy.

“It is regrettable that individuals who emerged through the democratic process can resort to violence and intimidation to suppress opposition voices.
The beauty of democracy lies in freedom of association and political participation without fear or coercion.
The attack on ADC members in Ekiti signals a descent into fascism,” Aregbesola said.

Police Launch Investigation

The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the incident and announced that it has launched a full-scale investigation to identify and apprehend those behind the attack.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Ekiti State governorship election for June 20, 2026.
