The Kaduna State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its State Secretary, Mr Sa’idu Adamu, over allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities, the party announced on Tuesday.

The suspension, which takes immediate effect, will last one month pending investigation, according to a statement signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Mrs Maria Dogo, and made available to journalists in Kaduna.

Suspension Based on Party Constitution

Dogo said the decision followed a resolution reached during the State Working Committee (SWC) meeting held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the party’s secretariat.

“The suspension was carried out in line with the provisions of Articles 58(1)(h) and 57(3) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended),” she said.

“During this period, Hon. Sa’idu Adamu is hereby barred from participating in any party activity at all levels.”

She explained that the action was taken to uphold the party’s internal disciplinary standards while an investigation into the allegations continues.

Party Reaffirms Commitment to Discipline and Fairness

The PDP also reassured members and the general public of its commitment to discipline, fairness, and accountability under the leadership of the State Chairman, Mr Edward Percy Masha.

“The ongoing efforts of the State Working Committee are aimed at strengthening the party’s structures and ensuring accountability across all ranks,” Dogo added.

The statement noted that the suspension was not punitive but part of a due-process mechanism to maintain integrity within the party’s leadership.

Background: Similar Disciplinary Action in PDP

This development comes just weeks after a related disciplinary measure within the party. On August 26, 2025, Emmynet24 News Media reported that the Anambra State House of Assembly suspended Hon. Bernard Udemezue, member representing Ayamelum Constituency, for three months.

Udemezue, elected on the PDP platform, was accused of sharing “damaging content” on social media alleging that his constituency was being marginalised in the allocation of constituency allowances.

Context and Outlook

The latest suspension in Kaduna underscores growing efforts by PDP state chapters to enforce internal discipline and restore public confidence ahead of upcoming party congresses and the 2027 general elections.

Party insiders say the probe into Mr Adamu’s alleged misconduct will determine whether the suspension will be lifted, extended, or converted into a formal sanction.
