1. Phantom Organization Behind the Propaganda
The so-called “Odua People’s Assembly” that allegedly “slammed” activist Omoyele Sowore is nothing more than a digital mirage.
Investigations reveal no trace of any registered organization by that name with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) — no address, no leadership, and no record of civil engagement.
The so-called group appears to exist solely in the imagination of political propagandists bent on fabricating opposition to legitimate calls for justice.
This is a familiar disinformation tactic: when truth gains traction, invent a fake group to discredit it.
2. Sowore’s Advocacy Is Constitutional and Legitimate
Contrary to the false narrative being circulated, Omoyele Sowore’s call for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is neither criminal nor subversive.
It is a lawful and moral campaign consistent with Nigeria’s constitutional and international obligations.
Under Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Article 11 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, citizens have the right to peaceful protest, advocacy, and freedom of expression.
Only those who profit from systemic injustice fear such lawful advocacy demanding that Nigeria uphold its own judicial rulings.
3. Selective Amnesia Over #EndSARS
The same voices now spreading falsehoods conveniently ignore the findings of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS-Related Abuses, chaired by Justice Doris Okuwobi (rtd).
That panel conclusively established that the Nigerian Army and Police were culpable in the Lekki Toll Gate killings during the #EndSARS protests.
The panel’s final report — officially received by the Lagos State Government — documented murder, assault, and state cover-up.
Yet, these paid propagandists continue to rewrite history, substituting truth with revisionism.
4. Manufactured Ignorance and Paid Mischief
The faceless authors behind the so-called “Odua Assembly” are part of a coordinated network of digital mercenaries hired to distort facts, incite ethnic tension, and vilify voices that challenge state impunity.
True Yoruba patriots — from Femi Falana, SAN, to the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi — built their legacies on truth and justice, not deceit.
No genuine Yoruba intellectual or activist will endorse illegal detention, judicial defiance, or violations of international law.
5. Truth Is Not a Crime
The real issue is not Sowore’s campaign — it is Nigeria’s ongoing violation of court orders regarding Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Despite the Court of Appeal judgment of October 13, 2022, which discharged Kanu of all charges, the government continues to hold him in custody, in defiance of the rule of law.
This continued detention remains a stain on Nigeria’s democratic integrity and an affront to the nation’s judicial system.
6. Message to the Propagandists
To those orchestrating these smear campaigns:
You may invent a thousand fake “assemblies,” but you cannot bury the truth.
Nigeria’s youth remember #EndSARS. The world remembers Lekki.
And history will record that when tyranny tried to silence justice, a few brave voices — Sowore’s among them — stood firm.
