Air Peace Limited has cautioned the public against a fraudulent social media advertisement claiming that the airline is offering a “30% off Africa flights” promotion.
In a statement issued by Air Peace’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the airline clarified that no such promotion exists and warned travellers not to engage with individuals or platforms circulating the misleading offer.
Airline Denounces Fake Discount Advert
“Our attention has been drawn to a sponsored post circulating on social media, advertising a purported ‘30% off Africa flights’ promotion and requesting members of the public to sign up to access this offer,” the statement read.
“We wish to categorically state that Air Peace Limited is not running any 30 per cent discount promotion. The said advertisement is fraudulent and not affiliated with Air Peace in any way. We therefore urge the public to disregard such posts and refrain from engaging with the promoters, as they are only attempting to defraud unsuspecting individuals.”
The airline described the campaign as a scam designed to deceive potential passengers, stressing that all official Air Peace communications are disseminated only through verified platforms.
Clarification on Official Website and Contact Channels
Air Peace also addressed growing confusion over fake online booking sites, particularly reports of individuals attempting to make reservations through the domain “airpeace.com.”
The company reaffirmed that its only official website is www.flyairpeace.com, warning customers against conducting transactions through unauthorised domains or social media handles.
“For your safety and to avoid falling victim to scams, passengers are advised to use only the following official contact channels:
Call Centre: +234 201 343 8133
Email: [email protected]
Website: www.flyairpeace.com
Air Peace will not be responsible for any transactions or ticket purchases made through unauthorised websites, contact numbers, or social media pages,” the airline added.
Public Advised to Exercise Vigilance
The airline urged customers and the general public to remain vigilant and verify all promotional offers directly through official Air Peace channels before making payments or sharing personal information.
The company reiterated its commitment to passenger safety, transparency, and customer trust, emphasizing that it regularly updates verified information through its official website and social media platforms.
Conclusion
The statement serves as a reminder of the increasing trend of cyber fraud targeting air travellers, with scammers exploiting the popularity of established airlines to lure victims.
Air Peace assured passengers that it will continue to work with authorities to identify and take action against fraudulent online activity impersonating its brand.
