The Abia State Civil Service Commission has reassured residents that the ongoing recruitment of healthcare workers is transparent, merit-driven, and not for sale, dismissing reports that job slots were being traded.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Chairman of the Commission, Eno Eze, described the allegations as “baseless and unfounded,” stressing that the process was designed to meet global best practices in human resource management.

“The application, Computer-Based Test (CBT), and interview processes have been meticulously designed to eliminate biases and ensure that only the best and most qualified candidates are selected for the available positions,” the statement read.

According to the commission, the recruitment exercise has so far received commendations from candidates and stakeholders for its integrity and fairness. It added that the final list of successful candidates, along with their documentation status, would be published on the official recruitment portal.

“This commitment to openness leaves absolutely no room for manipulation or alteration,” Eze stated.

The commission encouraged stakeholders to remain confident in the fairness of the exercise and urged anyone with credible evidence of attempts to compromise the process to submit reports via its official reporting portal.

“Reports will be thoroughly investigated, and decisive, appropriate actions will be taken against any confirmed breaches,” Eze assured.

The commission reiterated its commitment to building a competent and professional healthcare workforce in Abia State by upholding transparency and integrity throughout the recruitment process.
