Abuja, August 10, 2024— Nollywood actress and politician Tonto Dikeh, along with her bodyguard, Gbenga, has been summoned by the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, over allegations of assault and criminal trespass.

According to a report by Gistlover, the court summons, dated August 6, 2024, requires the defendants to appear on August 24, 2024, to answer the charges brought against them. The case, numbered CR/359/2024, was filed by Elvis Abuyere, the Chief Executive of Skyewise Group Limited and owner of an Abuja-based car dealership.

The dispute reportedly began in January when Dikeh approached Abuyere’s car dealership to purchase a brand-new Changan Uni-K 2023 model from Mikano Motors. Abuyere, who allegedly has a dealership arrangement with Mikano, paid N85 million in full for the vehicle, while Dikeh agreed to pay the remaining balance in installments within three months of receiving the car.

Initially, Dikeh paid N37 million as a first deposit on a used 2008/2009 Lexus, along with an additional N3.5 million. However, she allegedly failed to settle the remaining amount by the end of April, violating the terms of the agreement. On May 1, Abuyere retrieved the vehicle after unsuccessful attempts to collect the outstanding balance. Dikeh later made several payments totaling N42 million, but an outstanding balance of N2.1 million remained.

The situation escalated on July 30, when Dikeh reportedly contacted the dealership to have the car serviced. After the repairs were completed, the dealership requested the remaining N2.7 million. However, Dikeh is accused of violently invading the company’s premises in Maitama, Abuja, accompanied by her bodyguard and two other women, committing "criminal trespass."

The actress is also accused of assaulting Abuyere and other employees at the dealership, disrupting business operations, damaging property, and threatening to use social media to harm the company's reputation.
