Lagos, Nigeria – Favour Benson, Executive Director of Jashabel Touch-A-Heart Foundation (JTAH Foundation), is urging Nigerians to "sheathe our swords" regarding the upcoming nationwide protest slated for August 1 to August 10, 2024. Benson, a prominent human rights advocate, calls for calm and patience, highlighting the need for issues to be addressed by the government in a constructive manner.
“The government understands the frustrations and challenges faced by many Nigerians, but it is essential to approach these issues constructively. Our collective efforts will pave the way for a more prosperous Nigeria,” she stated.
Benson warned that the protest could be exploited by miscreants and individuals with malicious intent, potentially leading to widespread chaos. She stressed the importance of maintaining peace to prevent the situation from escalating.
“So I plead with us in the name of everything we hold dear, to please give peace a chance,” she concluded, emphasizing the critical need for unity and dialogue in resolving national issues.
