Akmodel MD, Builder (Dr.) Abdulhakeem Odegade
Lagos, Nigeria— Builder (Dr.) Abdulhakeem Odegade, Managing Director of Akmodel Group, has added his voice to those calling for caution ahead of the planned nationwide protests from August 1st to 10th, 2024.
Speaking with our correspondent in his office, Dr. Odegade emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and urged citizens to consider the potential negative impacts of protests. "The government acknowledges the current difficult situation that we Nigerians are going through; however, protesting is not the best means to sort things out," he stated. "Protests will do more damage to the country and may lead to uncontrollable bankruptcy for various organizations, disrupt businesses both local and international, destroy goods and properties, and harm people. This will only further destabilize the economy."
While recognizing the importance of freedom of expression, Dr. Odegade called for responsible actions. "I understand the relevance of exercising our freedom of expression, but I urge everyone with the intent to protest to please maintain peace and express any interests lawfully and ethically," he added.
The Akmodel Group, comprising Akmodel Homes and Properties, Akmodel Builders Construction, and Akmodel Farm Investment, has extensive property holdings in Lagos, Uyo, Ibadan, Awka, Abeokuta, Ilorin, Enugu, Ghana, and Côte d'Ivoire, with further expansions in the United Kingdom underway. The company recently introduced Akmodel Auto-Care and Akmodel Oil and Gas to its portfolio.
