Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has agreed to join AC Milan. According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Morata has accepted Milan’s offer and is fully committed to making the switch.
The forward plans to personally inform Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo of his decision. Morata is set to sign a four-year contract with an option for a fifth year, with a reported annual salary of €5.5 million including bonuses, though other sources suggest it may be €4.5 million.
AC Milan will need to activate Morata’s €13 million release clause to finalize the transfer. Notably, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played a crucial role in convincing Morata to return to Italy.
Morata’s move comes on the heels of his triumph at the 2024 European Championship with Spain. Once he communicates his decision to Atletico Madrid, Milan will proceed with the financial arrangements, which are expected to take about 48 hours. Subsequently, Morata will undergo a medical examination, either in Madrid or Milan, to complete the transfer.
