On Friday, the Nigerian Naira made significant moves in currency markets, with the parallel market witnessing a notable appreciation. The Naira strengthened to N1,380 against the US Dollar, marking a remarkable gain of N70 within a single day, contrasting sharply with Thursday's close at N1,450/$1.
In contrast, the local currency faced challenges on the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange (NAFEM) window, where it weakened to N1,339.23/$1, indicating a decline of N29.42 compared to Wednesday's rate of N1,309.81/$1.
Despite these fluctuations, the NAFEM window saw a decrease in daily turnover by 2.85 percent, settling at $309.01 million, down from $318.08 million the day before. The spot rates ranged from a high of N1,410 to a low of N1,051, showcasing the volatility in the currency markets.
