Tinubu instructs security agents to "crush oil thieves."

The President, Bola Tinubu, ordered Service Chiefs and the heads of security and intelligence agencies to "crush" those responsible for oil theft on Thursday in Abuja, declaring that his administration will not put up with the threat.

On his watch, according to Tinubu, insecurity would not bring Nigeria to its knees as other nations made strides in vital economic sectors.

The President issued the order during his first official meeting with service chiefs and intelligence chiefs on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, which was presided over by General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff.

Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retired), the National Security Adviser, told reporters after the meeting that the President had ordered chiefs of security services to present a well-thought-out plan to combat instability and preserve sanity across the country.

Throughout the course of the two-hour meeting, according to Monguno, Tinubu was informed by the security helmsmen on the operations of their various security formations and asked to share his expectations with them.

"The President and Commander in Chief of the armed forces has just completed a meeting of the general security appraisal committee comprising of the Chief of Staff service chiefs Inspector General of Police, and leaders of the intelligence agencies," he added.

He has never before met with the leaders of the security agencies. The two-hour meeting took place.

"After being briefed by the meeting's attendees, Mr. President addressed the current security challenges facing the country and also emphasized his personal philosophy toward handling national security matters."

He claimed that the President valued the job done over the previous two years by the armed forces, intelligence services, and larger paramilitary organizations.

He also paid tribute to those who lost their lives protecting this nation from the tremendous threat of terrorism, insurgency banditry, oil theft, sea robbery, piracy, etc.

"The President has made it abundantly clear that he is committed to build on whatever successes there may be, to right wrongs, and to shift the tide in our favor.

As far as he is concerned, this nation shouldn't be stumbling along while other nations toil and reach greater heights, Monguno said.

Yet the President insisted that the security agencies should step up their efforts, pointing out that his own ideology is a modern security policy that addresses the demands of the day.

He has made it abundantly apparent that he will not put up with a situation in which our fortunes continue to fall. And his own trajectory is that there must be anything, there must be coordination of national security... no matter if it's a basket

He has made it abundantly apparent that he won't stand by while our fortunes continue to fall. And his own trajectory is that there must be a clearing house, a basket system, or whatever is necessary to coordinate national security.

"Every agency must collaborate to accomplish a common goal. He will not support working against one another or colliding with one another. He has made it quite apparent that all security services must abide by the requirements for coordination, frequent consultations, and timely reports that must be taken action upon.

He plans to make significant changes to our security architecture and examine more closely at our marine catastrophes, focusing in especially on the subject of oil theft, which, in his opinion, will not be tolerated. NSA stated that the issue must be eliminated as soon as feasible, regardless of its source.

Monguno claimed that the President "doesn't have the luxury of time" and has ordered the security agencies to present a roadmap for the nation.

The President has also decided that such operatives must accompany the armed forces on any missions they undertake in the theater.

"They must be properly fed, outfitted, encouraged, and provided with all they need.

The NSA stated, "The President has stated explicitly that he will do everything within his power to enable the operational elements, but the intelligence agencies must also make their task easier for them by supplying the type of intelligence that they require to carry out the assignment.
