Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has come to the defence of her colleague, Regina Daniels, clarifying that the actress’s recent remarks about drug use were not an admission but a sarcastic response to allegations made by her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

Naija News reports that Regina Daniels had on Sunday taken to her Instagram page to react to Ned Nwoko’s accusation that she was involved in drug use — a claim that has since stirred widespread media attention and online debate.

In her post, Regina expressed shock over what she described as a “blatant lie” from her husband, insisting that her family had been unfairly dragged into their marital conflict.

She wrote:

“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this. You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason.

Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public, shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media, something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue!”

Her post was interpreted by many social media users and online news outlets as an admission that she had indeed engaged in drug use.

However, Doris Ogala, in a statement shared on her Instagram page later that day, dismissed such interpretations, insisting that Regina’s remark was rhetorical and not a confession.

Ogala wrote:

“She was clearly defending herself. You said I do drugs — yes, I do drugs — is that enough reason to arrest my family? This is looking like blackmail to bring her back to an abusive and toxic marriage.

Regina did not admit to doing drugs. This is a clear case of obsession; you must marry me. What kind of thing is this? This girl has cried out that she’s being abused, and you still want her to go back after allegedly stating that she’s being injected and experiencing forceful penetration. Give the little girl a break.”

Ogala also accused Nwoko of using intimidation tactics against Regina’s family, adding that her brother’s ongoing incarceration compounded the actress’s emotional distress.

“Her brother is still in prison, yet you want them to come back. Nawa,” she added.

Neither Regina Daniels nor Ned Nwoko has issued any further public statement on the matter as of the time of filing this report.
