Super Falcons Captain Rasheedat Ajibade Joins Paris Saint-Germain Until 2027

aris Saint-Germain (PSG) have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Nigerian international Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, the French club announced on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old forward joins from Atlético de Madrid Femenino, penning a contract that will keep her in Paris until June 30, 2027.

Career Background

Ajibade, born on December 8, 1999 in Mushin, Lagos, began her professional career with FC Robo Queens before moving abroad in 2019 to join Avaldsnes IL in Norway. She later signed for Atlético Madrid in 2021, where she scored eight goals and provided three assists in 25 appearances during the 2024–25 season.

A rising star from an early age, she was named NFF Young Player of the Year in 2018.

International Achievements

Ajibade currently captains the Super Falcons of Nigeria and has been pivotal in the team’s continental success, leading them to Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2018 and 2024.

She was also a key figure at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and represented Nigeria at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. With over 30 international caps, she is widely regarded as one of the most influential players in Nigerian women’s football.

Ajibade on Joining PSG

Reacting to her move, Ajibade expressed excitement at the opportunity to compete at the highest level in European football.
