Comfort Emmanson, the viral Ibom Air passenger recently released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, has received a life-changing offer from Ossai Ovie Success, Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
In a social media post, Ossai pledged to pay Comfort a monthly salary of ₦500,000 and sponsor an all-expenses-paid trip, describing the gesture as part of his effort to help her “start afresh.”
The offer comes shortly after Comfort’s high-profile release, which sparked nationwide debate. Her arrest and detention, stemming from an in-flight incident, drew mixed reactions from the public.
Ossai stressed the importance of rehabilitation over stigmatization, saying: “We should give people a second chance rather than define them by their mistakes.”
The announcement has gone viral, attracting both praise for the show of generosity and criticism from those who question why such assistance is often reserved for high-profile cases.
