Security Guard Found Dead in Diesel Tank in Rivers State

The body of a security guard, identified as Uche, was discovered inside a diesel tank at a telecommunications facility in Rumaholu community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State. Uche reportedly fell into the tank on Saturday night, with his remains found on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Residents noted that Uche was last seen on Saturday and began searching for him after he failed to return. It is believed he attempted to steal diesel from the tank when he slipped and fell, leading to his tragic death. 

A local resident revealed that Uche's slippers were found near the tank, and the facility's gate was left open, prompting the search. The resident stated, “When they didn’t see him throughout Sunday, they started searching for him and came to the place where he worked. They discovered that the protector was open and their security house was also open.”

Investigations are ongoing as authorities look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
