The Rivers State Police Command announced the rescue of a teenager who was kidnapped in Enugu and transported to Port Harcourt in a 'Ghana-Must-Go' bag. Police Commissioner Olatunji Disu revealed the details at a news conference on September 18.
The victim was found after officers at Abuloma Police Station received intelligence about suspicious activity linked to one of the suspects. Following this information, police arrested a male suspect and rescued the girl, whose identity has not been disclosed.
Disu explained that the suspect had lured the teenager from her home in Garki, Enugu, before bringing her to Port Harcourt. Upon arrival, she was taken to the home of an alleged internet fraudster, where she was repeatedly assaulted by the suspect and an accomplice.
The victim is receiving medical treatment, and the suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
