Obi criticized President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress administration for what he described as wasteful expenditures, including the purchase of a $100 million presidential jet, a N21 billion renovation of the vice president's lodge, and a N15 billion construction of the National Assembly clinic.
In an interview with News Central TV, Obi argued that the government’s lavish spending is exacerbating the living conditions of Nigerians. He called for a reallocation of resources towards crucial areas like health, education, poverty alleviation, and security.
Obi emphasized the need for investment in agriculture to address the intertwined issues of hunger, unemployment, and inflation. He also hinted at potential collaborations with other opposition parties to tackle the country’s challenges ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
