The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt in Imo State, Dr. Emeka Mandela, has announced the upcoming launch of a program to provide free conversion of petrol vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
Dr. Mandela made the announcement during a visit from the Council of Directors of Transport (CODOT) on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. He emphasized that the initiative aims to reduce transportation costs and promote environmentally friendly practices, particularly benefiting transporters and the student community.
The Commissioner encouraged continued support for the “Prosperity Shared 3R Government” led by Governor Hope Uzodinma, who facilitated the participation of ten Imo youths in the CNG program.
Comr. Ahana Lademus, the leader of the CODOT delegation, praised Dr. Mandela for his hospitality and expressed the group’s willingness to collaborate with the Ministry to enhance the welfare of students in the transport sector.
Comr. Mbanu Prosperous, Secretary of CODOT, commended the appointment of Dr. Mandela, recognizing his impactful contributions since taking office.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from Comr. Okoro David, with additional members from various transport organizations in attendance.
