On September 13, HabariPay’s Squad officially launched its first Squad Hackademy Programme, aimed at empowering businesses and young innovators across Africa. This initiative follows the successful “Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0,” which took place on January 19-20, 2024, at the GTCO Training Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The hybrid internship programme will support six top-performing students from the hackathon by covering their tuition fees until graduation. Participants will gain hands-on experience at one of Nigeria's leading fintech companies, working on real-life scenarios during their internships and university breaks.
According To Emmynet24, Eduofon Japhet, Managing Director of HabariPay Ltd, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “The Squad Hackademy is the first of many programs designed to engage young students with technology, enabling them to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills while assisting with their tuition.”
HabariPay, a fintech subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), offers a range of payment solutions tailored to help businesses across Africa thrive. Its products include Squad, an all-in-one payment tool, and HabariPay Storefront, an e-commerce platform.
