The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt in Imo State, Dr. Emeka Mandela, inaugurated two committees on September 18, 2024, aimed at fostering youth engagement: "Football Meets Skills" and the "Mr and Mrs Imo Pageant."
During the inaugural meeting in Owerri, the Event Director of Lush Life Production outlined the objectives of "Football Meets Skills," which seeks to unite Imo youths in a competitive environment, offering cash prizes and rewards for top performers. The CEO of Chris Event and Model Company highlighted the legacy of the Mr and Mrs Imo Pageant, which has previously showcased local talents on a global stage.
Dr. Mandela emphasized the initiatives' goals of promoting inclusivity and equitable opportunities for talented youths in the state. He praised Governor Hope Uzodinma for his commitment to engaging young people in life-changing activities.
The "Football Meets Skills" committee includes members such as Reginald Oloko and Kennedy Onwunali, while the "Mr and Mrs Imo Pageant" committee features individuals like Onyedikachi Onyekwere and Chikezie Ogujiofor.
