Dr. Emeka Mandela Attends OGSSIAN 81 ERS Star Awards 2024

The Honourable Commissioner of Youth Development and Talent Hunt in Imo State, Dr. Emeka Mandela, served as the Special Guest of Honour at the OGSSIAN 81 ERS Star Awards 2024, held on September 26. The event, organized by the Old Boys of Government Secondary School Owerri, focused on the theme: "Promoting Academic Excellence and Sustainable Enterprise Development."

The ceremony attracted numerous government dignitaries and prominent figures, who highlighted the critical role of education and the importance of recognizing outstanding achievements among students. Dr. Mandela expressed his gratitude to the awardees, emphasizing the need to overcome obstacles that hinder academic excellence.

As an alumnus of Government Secondary School Owerri, Dr. Mandela donated ₦100,000 to support the initiative and pledged to ensure that the awardees receive recognition from the state government. He reiterated his commitment to nurturing young talent within Imo State, particularly among students who demonstrate exceptional educational performance.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including the Commissioner of Primary and Secondary Education, Prof. Johncliff Nwadike, and the principals of both the Senior and Junior Secondary Schools.
