Ali Baba Reveals Journey to Fatherhood: Becomes Dad to Triplets at 59
Famous comedian Atunyota Akpobome, known as Ali Baba, shared the remarkable story of becoming a father to triplets at the age of 59 during an appearance on the Leadership Podcast. Initially, he and his wife, Mary, planned to have just one more son, especially since their other children were studying abroad.
Ali Baba recounted that Mary had a strong desire for another son, leading them to consider adoption before opting for a biological child through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). They decided to fertilize two eggs, hoping for at least one successful pregnancy.
Reflecting on their decision, Ali Baba noted, “Madam had always wanted to have a son. She had two daughters and we talked about it.” Despite his reservations about the responsibilities of parenthood, Mary reminded him of their philanthropic efforts through the Purple Girl Foundation, which supports over 120 students.
After agreeing to proceed with IVF, Ali Baba learned that one of the eggs had split into two, resulting in triplets. “When it became three, she and the doctor knew but didn’t want to tell me right away,” he explained. “Sometimes when we ask God for one million, he gives you two million.”
In the end, they welcomed three boys, marking a joyful new chapter in their lives.
