In a recent initiative aimed at empowering young potentials, the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, has sponsored 10 lucky Imo youths to Abuja for a capacity-building workshop.
The Imo State Ministry of Youth Development and Talent Hunt facilitated the transportation, accommodation, and feeding of the participants. These young individuals will attend a two-day workshop on CNG Conversion Value Chain, Safety, and Benefits in the Automotive Sector from September 11th-12th at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Center in Abuja.
Hon. Dr. Emeka Mandela, Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, applauded the youths’ determination and commitment. He emphasized that the workshop aims to enhance their potential within the automotive industry, stressing the significant economic benefits and self-reliance it offers. Mandela urged the participants to represent Imo State well and share the knowledge they gain with others.
In his statement, Hon. Mandela also expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the state’s leadership, noting that Governor Uzodinma’s 3R Government remains committed to ensuring Imo youths benefit from national and international opportunities.
Hon. Eric Uwakwe, Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization, further highlighted the financial and environmental advantages of compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion, while Dr. Dorothy Mirikwe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, congratulated the delegates, urging them to be diligent and maintain high moral standards.
This workshop, in partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council, promises to equip these youths with knowledge that will help drive a cost-effective and environmentally friendly automotive future for Nigeria.
