A Russian tourist in Thailand was gored by a cow after allegedly attempting to assault the animal, according to reports. The incident occurred in Surat Thani, southern Thailand, where 26-year-old Evgenii Kuvshinov reportedly stripped off and approached a female cow tied to a wooden fence.

Local residents, alarmed by his cries for help, alerted the police after witnessing the cow violently pinning Kuvshinov to the ground and goring him. Shocking footage from the scene shows Kuvshinov lying on the ground without any clothes while the cow attacked him.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene and transported Kuvshinov to Bannaderm Hospital, where he was treated for wounds on his bottom and abrasions across his body. A paramedic from the Ban Na Doem Foundation, who treated Kuvshinov, suggested that he might have been attempting to engage in sexual activity with the cow, as cannabis was found in his car.

Police Lieutenant Thongchai Chaikit of Ban Na Doem Police Station confirmed that they received reports of a foreign man involved in an "altercation" with a cow on August 15. He explained that the cow charged at Kuvshinov when he tried to restrain it by holding its head. "He was lucky that the rescue team arrived to save him," the officer said.

Witnesses claimed that Kuvshinov initially approached a male cow before moving to the female, attempting to mount her. Although there was no physical evidence of sexual assault, such as semen, police suspect he may have been trying to "make love" to the cow. Kuvshinov was reportedly incoherent, speaking Russian without any meaning, and did not smell of alcohol. However, marijuana and his torn passport were found in his car.

After being treated for his injuries, Kuvshinov allegedly became unmanageable at the hospital, leading to his detention at the police station. Authorities are now awaiting the involvement of tourist and immigration police to continue the investigation.
