A devastating incident has occurred in Kano State, Nigeria, where a 9-year-old girl, Rumaisa Sadiq, was allegedly raped to death by a chemist operator, Manniru Mai, while seeking treatment for malaria.

According to reports, the victim's father took her to the chemist's shop in Jaba, Fanisau, Unogo Local Government Area, where the horrific crime occurred.

Kano State Commissioner of Women Affairs, Disabled and Children, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, confirmed the incident and vowed to ensure justice is served, despite attempts to divert the case.

The Commissioner, in a statement, emphasized the need for swift and full dispensation of justice to serve as a deterrent to others.

The case is currently before a court of law, with human rights organizations expressing concern.
