FCT, Saturday — After a brief period of calm in the Federal Capital Territory, protests have resumed on Saturday as demonstrators took to the streets once again.
The protests, which were temporarily halted due to raids on residences and the arrest of organizers, are now actively underway. Originally beginning on August 1, the protest is expected to culminate today with a massive one million-man march across the country.
On Friday, our correspondent observed a heavy presence of security operatives around the Central Business District areas in anticipation of today's demonstration. Additionally, there has been a noticeable increase in security agents stationed at Eagles Square, a stark contrast to the previous three days when no protests were reported.
As early as 7 a.m. on Saturday, protesters gathered, chanting slogans such as "End hunger" and "Reverse fuel subsidy removal," signaling their ongoing dissatisfaction with government policies.
