Cross River State Government Partners with SMEDAN to Empower MSMEs at Upcoming Summit

The Cross River State Government, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), is poised to empower local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the Grow Cross River Summit and Made in Cross River Products Trade Fair. The event is scheduled for August 21, 2024, at the EDC Conference Hall, Prof Eyo Ita House, Calabar.


The summit, themed "Grow Cross River," is focused on fostering the growth and development of MSMEs across the state. It will feature keynote addresses from notable figures such as Mr. Charles Odii, Director-General of SMEDAN, and Barr Sam Hart, Project Lead for the Made in Aba Products Campaign.


Other distinguished speakers include Ekemini Francis, a renowned Business Growth Expert and CEO of EKEMPROFITS; Hon. Patrick Egbede, Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment; and Hon. Abigail Duke, Commissioner for Commerce, all hailing from Cross River State.


Under the leadership of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, Executive Governor of Cross River State, the event will emphasize the government's commitment to empowering MSMEs as a vital driver of economic growth.


Key highlights of the summit include the official relaunch of the Cross River State Enterprise Development Center (EDC), the graduation and certificate presentation to 500 EDC students, seed fund disbursement to graduates, the launch of the Made in Cross River Campaign, and the unveiling of the MSME Development Fund.


The summit is organized by the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, led by Director-General Great Ogban.
